Papercuts Podcast Episode 3 – Warm Bodies (movie review)

A funny new twist on a classic love story, WARM BODIES is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.
Hey, guys! So we’re back with the continuation of our book-to-movie review project, discussing the first up of our selections, the Warm Bodies movie. This was the one we all thought we were most likely to enjoy…now it’s time to find out if we actually will. As usual, it’s Robin, Ollie, and myself, but this time we’re also joined by my utterly insufferable er, wonderfully lovely co-blogger, Kayla!

Great podcast – can’t wait to get your opinions on the other movies. I’m more on the side of liking than disliking the movie. Still haven’t read the book, but am definitely going to check it out later this year. I thought the movie was a lot of fun, but I genuinely went in wanting and expecting to like it, instead of going in for critique, so it might be a case of rose-tinted glasses. Still, I’ll probably end up buying it when it’s on video and enjoying it down the line.

Thanks, Vicki! The book is definitely going on my to-read list as well, Ollie made it sound very interesting. Yeah, it sounds like I was the only one let down by the movie, but it’ll probably end up being the most enjoyable of the lot!

Loved the podcast. 🙂 I’m planning on seeing it on Sunday. Funnily enough, there’s a student discount film club in this country, and if I hadn’t lost my membership card, I could have gone to see Warm Bodies for free a week or two before release. orz
